Our People

Marcus T. – Lead Technician

Marcus has been fixing gates in New York since 2011, and before that he spent six years working on commercial loading-dock equipment in Queens. He’s our lead diagnostic tech, which means he’s the one untangling the wiring when a gate stops responding and the client swears the remote worked yesterday. Marcus holds factory training certifications from LiftMaster and FAAC, and he’s rebuilt more Viking swing-arm actuators than he can count. Outside work, he restores vintage arcade cabinets and has a 1983 Centipede machine in his apartment that he’s kept running for a decade. For an automatic gate, he’ll tell you, the same principle applies: clean contacts and honest maintenance beat a dramatic replacement every time.

Elena R. – Senior Installer

Elena came to Portcullis Gate Repair New York in 2014 after running her own small welding and fabrication shop in the Bronx. That background matters when an existing gate post is set in concrete that was poured during the Giuliani administration and the new operator needs a custom bracket to fit. She’s certified on BFT, DoorKing, and Elite systems, and she handles most of our slide-gate and cantilever installations in Brooklyn and Staten Island. Danielle W. – Service Coordinator

Kevin S. – Apprentice Technician

Kevin joined us in 2022 through a referral from Elena, who met him at a technical school job fair in the Bronx. He’s working through his training on Mighty Mule and Ghost Controls residential systems while riding along with Marcus on commercial calls. Kevin is the one who double-checks the safety sensor alignment and torques every bolt to spec before we call a job done, which is exactly the habit we want in an apprentice. He grew up in Queens and can tell you which deli near any job site still makes a proper bacon-egg-and-cheese. His personal project right now is rebuilding a rusted pedestrian gate for his grandmother’s building in Astoria, which he’s documenting with photos only a technician would find exciting.
